A pretty serious oversight of the Atreides military when you think of it, plus mechs on sand just doesn't sound like a good idea to begin with. Slow as hell units, which is not ideal when they can be gobbled up by giant sandworms at any given moment. Well I think it's partly because the game was really unbalanced.Ītreides were pretty damn crappy in my opinion. C&C 3 is honestly my favourite game of franchise. I mean, C&C is basically my favourite franchise ever which I played before I was like five, but it was never perfect. Basically the only Westwood RTS that I can play today without overcoming any cringe-curve is Red Alert 2 (and just look, RA2 had EA involved, what a coincidence). But Red Alert 1 was hillariously unbalanced with 90% of units being useless garbage, Dune 2000 looked and played like a reskinned C&C (and it came the same year as Starcraft), Tiberian Sun was unfinished and Emperor was boring despite all its great design and amazing music. Sure, Dune 2 sorta invented the genre and C&C was innovative as well. If you look at Westwood with a bit more objectivity, you will find that their RTS games were charismatic and fun, but not exactly god-tier. C&C 4 was awfull, but overall EA did fine job at RTS.
